Louise has been an agent with our office for over 18 years. “Working with a distinguished Shelter Island broker has led me to a successful real estate career”. Louise has lived on Shelter Island for over 40 years. Her background and knowledge of houses began as a child where her father was a custom builder. She is now married to a custom builder and helps her husband manage his construction company. Having a knowledge and background of construction, permit processes and zoning regulation is an extremely valuable tool in the real estate business. Louise looks forward to the off season when she can spend time on the quiet beaches and kayaking the creeks and inlets. “Shelter Island is such a hidden gem and the fall is the best time to enjoy the scenic beauty of this special place.”
Eileen fell in love with Shelter Island while vacationing on a boating trip to Coecles Harbor Marina. Her love for nature and the environment is a perfect match on Shelter Island. Eileen and her husband Mike made Shelter Island their home after he retired from Nassau County Police Department. Eileen has worked in real estate for the past 29 years and is fulfilled when she finds the right home or land for her customers. Together, they have also purchased, renovated and sold numerous homes on Long Island and Florida which is now their winter get-a-away. Eileen is an active member of the Shelter Island Lions Club and The East End Hospice.
As a Long island girl, growing up in Rockville Centre, I am a New Yorker, first, last and always. And now I am a Shelter Islander first, last and always. After renting summer homes for several years, we decided to buy in South Ferry Hills, one of Shelter Island’s special hideaways. Then we decided why not move to Shelter Island full time. I was a nurse at a busy Nassau County hospital and when I decided to become a stay at home mom, I thought I would explore real estate. It became my passion. I sold many high end homes in Rockville Centre, Garden City and the general area. When we moved to Shelter Island I decided to hold a dual license with Griffing and Collins, and moved to Georgiana’s office shortly thereafter. After selling many properties through her office, I decided to leave Shelter Island to be near my daughter on Staten Island. She is now happily married with two children and is also a real estate broker. I am very happy to be back in Georgiana’s office, the oldest living real estate broker on Shelter Island, where I am a full service real estate broker, with a house cleaning service, Grace & Co., and I also do property management services. All related to real estate brokerage, which keeps me connected to all aspects of listing and selling homes. It truly is a passion, almost to the point of being obsessed, just cannot wait to make the perfect match with buyer and seller, which I have often done.
I started in the Real Estate business in 1987. That is 30 years at the Georgiana B. Ketcham Real Estate office on Shelter Island, listing, selling, renting and writing Broker’s Price Opinions. I up-graded from sales associate to Associate Broker quite a few years ago so I no longer have to submit to Continuing Education courses.
I have been living on Shelter Island from 1962 (56 years). So I know every nook and cranny, even those houses hidden away down long dirt roads. I have two sons (48 & 47) who grew up here and attended the Shelter Island School from K through 12. Both now have Master’s degrees and are working in the area. My wife, a registered nurse is retired after working for Eastern Long Island Hospital and the local doctors for over 55 years. I have enjoyed my time in Real Estate. Loved checking out new and old homes and have made many new friends along the way.
Jon is a graduate of Shelter Island High School. He has been a salesperson at this office since 1984, and has been piloting the South Ferry for 40 years. Waterfront properties are his speciality!
